Description
Due to their special suitability in sports, the use of new technologies in competition and training is welcomed, if not demanded, by the majority of athletes and coaches. Of particular interest are multifunctional systems with real-time feedback functionality. In highly dynamic sprinting and jumping movements in athletics, athletes must execute very precise movements and mobilize high forces within a very short period of time. Slight differences in the execution of movements can lead on the one hand to a situation where the intended adaptation mechanisms are not triggered or no positive performance development is recorded. On the other hand, such differences are often not even accessible to the subjective trainer's perception or can only be developed indirectly. From the training practice results the demand, not only to train these aspects specifically, but also to diagnose them during the training. The aim of the proposed research project is the prototypical development and validation of a wireless, mobile and flexible low-cost measurement system that enables the automatic acquisition of performance parameters (e.g. ground contact times and flight times) during fast-impact (reactive) jumping and sprinting movements and provides the trainer with real-time monitoring of several athletes under field conditions (e.g. training).
