Exercise & Movement Science

Research

On the one hand, the research area deals with training from a holistic and applied perspective as a complex process of planned and systematic realization of measures for the sustainable achievement of goals in and through sports. On the other hand, it deals with the external and internal view of movements in sports from a basic and applied perspective, for example in the context of the analysis of observable products (athletic movements and postures) and the internal motor processes underlying movement actions.

Research interests:

  • Ability diagnostics (development and testing of instruments)
  • Performance diagnostics (sport-specific)
  • Injury prevention
  • Talent development and training of young athletes
  • Design and testing of training programs (fitness, health, sport-specific performance status)
  • Operational health promotion (sports science, esp. training and exercise science) contribution possibilities
  • Documentation and evaluation of selected process stages of squad training at the Olympic Training Center (OSP) Westphalia
  • EMG-supported training form analyses
  • e-Learning in training science
  • Development, evaluation and validation of measurement systems
