Study program of Physical Education in Dortmund
An overview
The Institute of Sport and Sport Science at TU Dortmund University is one of the few higher education institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia where the subject of sport can be studied in all teacher training programs. The training of sports teachers is thus the focus of teaching and research, supported by cooperation with the second and third phase of teacher training (preparatory service and teacher training). A close interlocking of research and teaching as well as sports science, sports practice and school practice findings and requirements with regard to school sports is a matter of course. This also serves as preparation for other extracurricular mediation-oriented professional fields in sport.
Within the framework of minor subject agreements, it is also possible to study the subject of sport in other Bachelor's/Master's degree programs:
- Bachelor "Educational Science"
- Bachelor and Master "Journalism"
- Bachelor "Applied Linguistics"
- Bachelor "Statistics"
In addition, a research-oriented, natural science Master's program (M. Sc.) is currently being developed, which will focus, among other things, on sports science research in the context of clinical studies.
