Goals and contents

In March 2013, the German Sports Youth, together with the Institute for Sport and Sport Sciences at the University of Freiburg, organized an expert hearing on the topic of "Integration and Inclusion in Sport - Terms, Concepts, Effects and Research Desiderata". The discussions of the presentations from sports science and from member organizations of the DOSB revealed theoretical and conceptual uncertainties and pointed to a pronounced need for clarification regarding questions of term usage and conceptual classifications. With the support of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), a group of authors was able to formulate the present expertise in close cooperation and intensive discussion. In the expertise, the concepts of diversity, inclusion, integration and interculturality, which currently appear to be particularly relevant, are first introduced by the respective expert in their main features. In each case, the genesis and theoretical anchoring of the term is presented independently of the context in which it is used in sports policy, and the reference to sports science is pointed out.
