Education and 'Bildung'
As a significant area of social and cultural reality, sport is also an element for processes of education and 'Bildung'. On the one hand, the main idea is to describe and analyse the pedagogical tasks and possibilities of sport in its many forms - from informal movement activities to various forms of institutionalized offerings. In doing so, evaluation is indispensible/inevitable, since positive and negative influences as well as desired and undesired effects must be distinguished. On the other hand, constructive suggestions on which sport, if any, is suitable to promote the development of children and adolescents as well as to secure the quality of life and satisfaction of adults have to be made and justified.
