The Research Group for Data Analytics in Sport Science is pleased to announce that it will host Mr. Niko-Petteri Hirvonen (M.Sc.) from Finland for a three-month research visit. Mr. Hirvonen is affiliated with the Research Unit of Health Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu, Finland. His visit is scheduled to take place from October 2025 to December 2025.

Mr. Hirvonen received his MSc from Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, University of Jyväskylä, Finland. His main area of research includes wearable-measured activity behaviors in working-aged populations and the impact of activity behaviors on public health.

The purpose of the research visit is to exchange expertise concerning the physiological responses of domain-specific activity behaviors for understanding how 24-hour activity behaviors predict health and disease. The expertise of working group of Prof. Farrahi will complement those of Mr. Hirvonen. Together, they will explore work- and leisure-time profiles of activity behaviors in unique occupational groups explaining the differences in different lifestyle-related health outcome risks.

Jun. Prof. Dr. Vahid Farrahi and his team eagerly anticipate welcoming Mr. Hirvonen to their research group and are looking forward to fruitful collaboration during his stay.
