A team from the Nanjing Sport Institute visits the data analysis department

On June 19, 2025, a distinguished team of scientists from China, including Professor Aiguo Chen, Vice President of Nanjing Sport Institute (NSI) visited the Institute for Sports and Sports Science at TU Dortmund University.

On June 19, 2025, a distinguished team of scientists from China, including Professor Aiguo Chen, Vice President of Nanjing Sport Institute (NSI) visited the Institute for Sports and Sports Science at TU Dortmund University. NSI is one of the most famous sport universities in China, and has been dedicated to promoting health and enhancing athletic performance through education and research. The visiting team met with Jun.-Prof. Dr. Farrahi to explore opportunities for further collaboration in sport science research.

The visiting team from NSI consisted of:

  • Professor Dr. Aiguo Chen, Vice President
  • Professor Dr. Liye Zou, Head of the Brain-Body-Mind Laboratory
  • Dr. Qiang Ye, Head of Information Technology
  • Dr. Feng Jiang, Head of Liberal Education
  • Ms. Rong Rong, Secretary of the International Office

Jun. Prof. Dr. Farrahi has previously collaborated with some members of the visiting group on two joint publications with multi authors, which appeared in:

 

During the visit, Prof. Farrahi introduced the structure and academic programs offered by the Institute for Sports and Sports Science at TU Dortmund University, highlighting other professorships within the institute as well its degree programs including the Master Program in Data Science in Sports and Health.

Both teams shared insights into their respective areas of research, fostering discussions about potential avenues for future collaboration. Key topics included possibilities for academic exchange programs, particularly involving doctoral researchers.

Looking ahead, Prof. Farrahi expressed his enthusiasm to deepen collaborative efforts with NSI colleagues and expand joint research activities between TU Dortmund University and NSI.
