Sports Medicine research group welcomes assoc. Prof. Yoshikawa from Japan

From September 11th-14th the 40th congress of the international union of physilogical sciences was held in Frankfurt. Frederike Adamek and David Walzik from the sports medicine research group presented their work and were awarded with travel grants. It was a great pleasure to meet associated Professor Akira Yoshikawa from the Division of Health Science Education at Showa Medical University, Japan who also presented his work on benefits of exercise training in rodent stroke models. Following the congress, Dr. Yoshikawa visited our Institute for two days to get in touch with the group and to present his plans for his two year research stay at TU Dortmund University, which will start in 2026. During this time he will mainly focus on tryptophan research in the context of exercise.
