Teaching
The teaching of the Division of Sports Pedagogy and Didactics focuses primarily on field of study II. In addition, the department’s faculty members offer various practical sports courses.
In Basic Module II.A, students gain insight into all areas of sports science research at the Institute of Sport and Sports Science. For example, sessions in the Division of Sports Pedagogy and Sports Didactics address topics such as sports didactic concepts, the fundamentals of inclusion, and methods of performance assessment in school. In Module II.C, these topics are explored in greater depth as part of the seminar “Inclusion and Heterogeneity” using concrete case studies from physical education. In Module II.D, students can, for example, take a seminar on the pedagogical quality of training in youth sports and, by extension, on extracurricular aspects of sports.
Topics in Specialization Module II.F of the master’s program include, for example, the fundamentals of empirical school sports research, student behavior in physical education, and the fundamentals of teaching and learning processes from an interdisciplinary perspective.
As part of the Theory-Practice Module, students are prepared for their practicum semester and receive professional guidance during that semester.
